I started the restoration as soon as I purchased the car. I started by tearing out hte interior of the chevelle and replacing it with facorty origional panels that I purchsed off of SS396.com.
This is how the car looked when I brought the car home.
The car was advertised as a 350 but it is actually a 400 small block. I have plans to rebuild the motor one day.
The chevelle had aftermarket wheels and tires that I replaced with factlyr style ss wheels
I painted the grill black to match the SS style cars. This was the start to the cloning project.
the previous owner had spray painted the seat backs and the door panels red to match the exterior of the car.
This is a picture of the first time that we tore apart the interior of the car.
As you can see the car was origionally a llight blue this is why I chose to go with the new corvett blue when I repainted the car a year later.
New door panels. I re-used the white leather seats with plans to replace them when i re-did the car the next time.
